What is grief therapy?
Grief therapy is a form of support that helps people cope with loss, whether it is the loss of a loved one, a relationship, health, or loss due to a big change in your life.
It's not about "getting over grief", but about finding a way to cope with the pain and emotions of loss as your life goes on.
Insight
Grief therapy can help you gain new insight into how can you adapt to your new reality as you process your loss.

Space
In therapy you will be given space to express your feelings in a judgement-free environment. I will support you in reflecting on your loss and assist you in exploring ways to deal with your grief.
Support
Whether you have recently experienced a death, a relationship breakdown or another loss, I can help you:
-
Understand your unique experience of loss. Grief is different for everyone. I can help you navigate the emotional journey with understanding and support.
-
Develop healthy coping mechanisms. I will offer you tools to understand difficult emotions and tools to take care of yourself.
-
Find strength and resilience. You can learn to live a fulfilling life again even after great loss.
About Me

My name is Rebecca Moens. I am a grief therapist, pedagogue and family & parent coach. My work revolves around helping individuals and families understand and navigate the complexities of grief, parenting and family dynamics.
I am a native English speaker. As an Irish woman living and working in The Netherlands I am familiar with the challenges of being an ex-pat and feeling far away from your family and culture of origin.
I have over 20 years of experience in the field of family and parental support and have degrees in pedagogy, coaching/counseling and grief therapy. My goal is to help people tell their story, gain insight into new possibilities and progress. I am an empathic listener and good at creating a safe space for clients to explore their questions and challenges. I believe that insight and understanding lead to new perspectives. It is a privilege to walk through these processes with clients.
My qualifications
-
Post graduate diploma in Grief and Loss Therapy (Sociale Academie Utrecht)
-
Post graduate diploma in Integrative Counseling & Coaching (Nederlandse Academie voor Psychotherapie)
-
Bachelor’s degree in Pedagogy (Hogeschool van Amsterdam)
SKJ registration number: 100002924 | NFG registration number 10139

This is what others say about me:
"My experience with Rebecca has been very important for my first years living in the Netherlands. She helped me tremendously through my grieving process (the death of my father), but also through all kinds of grief and changes. She was warm, approachable, with good advice and lots of experience. I always felt listened to and validated. I owe much of my growth over these years to our therapeutic work." Francesca.
“Rebecca supported me with care and insight during a very difficult time. Her guidance helped me gain clarity about what I truly want and move forward in my healing process. I always felt heard and validated, and our sessions gave me the calm and space I needed to make important decisions.” Iris
